A dream come true

Do you have big dreams but suffer from procrastination?

My goals for 2021 is to accomplish the goals for 2020 which I should have done in 2019 because I promised them in 2018 and planned them in 2017!

Is this you? Do you have big dreams but suffer from procrastination? Here are a few valuable and easy tips to get you motivated into action…

The bigger the better!

‘You get in life what you have the courage to ask for.’ – Oprah Winfrey

Don’t be scared to make your goals big. In fact, the bigger the better…

‘Always shoot for the moon, because even if you miss you’re going to land somewhere among the stars.’ – Gene Cernan (Astronaut)

Don’t be shy

Telling a friend will not only help make you accountable but will also help you on your ‘down’ days. But be careful about this, only tell one or two trusted and supportive friends that you are certain will encourage you and have only love and happiness in their heart for you and your dreams.

Just take the first step

All that is required for success is a vision of the destination. The journey itself will reveal the means to take me there. Trust in the infinite power and wisdom of the universe to reveal to you the best possible route one step at a time.

‘You don’t have to see the whole staircase. Just take the first step.’ – Martin Luther King

Daydream

Where your focus goes, energy flows and results show. Visualization has been used by elite athletes since the 70s. The daily practice of visualizing your dreams as already complete will attract that outcome. Be what you want to attract.

So, close your eyes & imagine, in vivid detail, what you would see and feel if the dream you have were already realized. Remember to carry that feeling throughout the day.

Break it down

Break down your goal into daily bitesize chunks. If you just do one thing everyday towards your goal that’s 365 actions closer to where you want to be – that’s a lot closer!

‘You don’t try to build a wall. You say, I’m going to lay this brick, as perfectly as a brick can be laid, and you do that every single day, and soon you will have a wall. It’s difficult to take the first step when you look how big the task is. The task is never huge to me, it’s always one brick.’ – Will Smith

Train your willpower

So far so good on your new goal but you fear in time your willpower will begin to crumble...

If you are trying to avoid eating junk food, for example, use conviction when deciding. Rather than saying, “I can’t have ice cream,” try saying, “I choose not to have ice cream.” If you are trying to set up a start-up business, try saying “I choose to work on my dream project in the evenings after work instead of watching TV.”

Last but not least…

‘What good is an idea if it remains an idea? Try. Experiment. Iterate. Fail. Try again. Change the world.’ – Simon Sinek

Have you found this advice helpful? What are your goals for the next year? How are they coming along? Let me know in the comments, I would love to hear...

May the infinite love of this universe always bless you.
